“When I was doing my MA, I can remember discussing at length with the tutors the importance of collecting or collections in my work. Door wedges, toy eyeballs, dog biscuits, red bits of litter picked up from the floor, etc – all which have been useful. For some reason, we decided that by starting a collection that was neither useful or interesting it might prove insightful. I started collecting the ‘What’s on TV’ guide every week for the last seventeen years and so far it has taught me nothing.”
